At American Legends, we love that you’re interested in collecting sports cards. That being said, we’d like to tell you a little secret about the trade: this hobby has a lot of variety and that’s what makes it so fun! To start, you can collect cards from different sports, such as baseball, hockey, football, and basketball. Something that a lot of people don’t know is that there are even non-sports cards that you can collect. What does that mean for you? If you want to take a break from baseball, you can focus your attention on science fiction cards, historical figures or even comic book heroes.
In addition to different sports, you also have a huge range once you choose your preferred focus. For example, if you want your focal point to be baseball, you have a lot of room to be creative. Some people focus on one team, a specific player, a time period, or even rookie cards. Some people can even put all their random cards together and put them in order from most homeruns to least. As we said, even experienced card collectors are always learning and making changes to keep their collection interesting.
The point of us telling you this is that you should take your time to figure out what works for you. Just because one person has a certain process, doesn’t mean you have to. The variety is what keeps this hobby intriguing! It’s your collection and you can organize it however you want.
If one day you want to sell baseball cards and start collecting non-sports cards, you can also do that. There are always sports card buyers in NJ that are looking for more cards. The good thing about this is that you can always sell baseball cards and start your collection from scratch again! Always remember that this is your passion for a reason, so make sure to have fun with it.
